Not just a supplier of parts! One thing we specialise in is providing you with full technical support. As everyone’s human, there are times when we won’t know the answer to your question, but if we don’t know, we’ll certainly go out of our way to find out for you! With so many years of combined experience and knowledge in the industry, you can have the confidence that your balustrade is in the best hands.

In this project, the posts are taller than the standard 1100mm high to form a windbreak due to the windy location. The glass used was 13.5mm toughened and laminated to make this safe. A stipulation in the regulations that apply to balustrades is that a barrier must be in place at 1100mm high in the unlikely event of a panel smashing. So, in this project, had there been a handrail at the top, the glass would still have needed to be toughened and laminated, or a secondary handrail included at 1100mm high. Toughened and laminated glass is okay to use because should a panel break, the interlayer will hold the panel together until a replacement piece can be organised. What regulations apply to your upcoming project and the best way to satisfy them can be a minefield. That’s why we’re always on the other end of the phone if you have any questions. We sometimes advise you to speak directly to your local building control (or your building inspector if you have one involved in the project), as we can’t categorically say what they will or won’t allow in a specific situation. However, we are always at the other end of the phone should you have any questions or queries regarding your balustrade project.

This project incorporates several styles: posts and glass on the front balcony, stand-offs and glass Juliet balconies at the back, and a simple clamp and glass infill on the stairs. The high standard of finish applies across all products, making it easy to mix and match styles in a single project while maintaining a cohesive look. In this project, all the stainless steel is in a mirror-polished finish – essential as this project is very close to the seafront.
