Frameless Glass Balustrade With Black Powder-coated Defender Channel
The frameless provides a seamless look and a safe, uninterrupted view of the surrounding scenery. The glass used in this project is standard clear toughened and laminated, however, we also offer a low iron option. This creates an even more seamless look as it is less visible and clearer than the standard panels. Alternatively we can offer a coloured or frosted interlayer to provide you with privacy should you want it.
Handrails are an option but are not a necessity in this project as laminated glass has been used. We recommend toughened and laminated glass is used in frameless systems so that the interlayer will act as a temporary safety barrier should the glass be damaged or smashed.
The channel in this project is powder-coated to RAL 9005, however, we can powder coat the channel and fixings to any standard RAL colour option…. The choice is yours!
Full CAD drawings are provided for each order to be signed off before it goes through to manufacture. In this project, our white glove service was used so all channels were cut to length prior to delivery and ready to install!
These sleek, black stand-offs fixing the glass to the steps are fully customisable to best suit your required aesthetic and function. Here, bespoke spacers have been used to suit these steps. They are also powder-coated in black to match the channel.
A slightly bigger spacer can be used to avoid a finger trap and allow easier cleaning of the glass.
