Extra Storage

As many who have limited garden space know, there never seems to be enough storage space for all the things that belong with the garden! As well as elevating the ‘social’ area of the garden, this decking cleverly incorporates a significant amount of extra storage. The difference in levels between the ground and the decking is more than 600mm, therefore a balustrade is needed to protect the edge. This is specified in Doc K and BS 6180, and it is specifically relating to single-family dwellings. It is important to note that in buildings other than dwellings, guarding is required where there is a difference greater than 380mm. This is to take into account the greater number of building users and their possible lack of familiarity with the layout.

As the garden is a small space, the glass panel infills ensure that the space doesn’t feel cramped or restricted. Every post is made to order, so it’s easy to adjust the design to suit your project. This means that we can accommodate bespoke clamp positioning for shaped pieces of glass, on a stairway for instance, as shown on the image to the right.

Our D-shaped glass clamps can be supplied in both 304 grade and 316 grade. In a coastal area? No problem, as you can choose between satin and mirror polish finish as standard. View the range here. It is important that you choose the correct grade of stainless steel to ensure that it stays in good condition. If the ‘wrong’ grade of stainless steel for the application is used, the stainless steel can begin to corrode, causing discolouration on the surface known as ‘tea-staining‘.
