Staircases are often the focal point of a building design, and an important architectural element.
The customer wanted a sleek and unobtrusive balustrade that would complement both the patio and the lower decked terrace. This design brief was achieved by using the same decking on the stairs, with our structural glass system forming a subtle frameless balustrade; allowing for maximum enjoyment of the stunning view across the woodlands. Using the same structural glass system across both levels anchors the area giving a calm and cohesive feel.
For this design, 17.5mm toughened and laminated glass was used, to ensure it met all safety requirements.
