Brass lends a stately and luxurious atmosphere to any interior.
Antiqued finish brass was specified in the refurbishment of this boutique country house hotel, is set in the heart of the New Forest National Park.
“We like to think of ourselves as a luxury country house hotel with a difference. We’ve used the classical structure as the basis of our design but we’ve lovingly renovated it, keeping the spirit of its past, taking inspiration from its extraordinarily beautiful surroundings and adding the odd contemporary twist to bring it to life.”
Brass has been used for many years, in fact it was first widely used across Europe during the end of the first millennium B.C. by the Roman Empire. It is an alloy of copper, zinc, and other metals and can be finished in a wide range of finishes depending on the design requirements:
Polished Brass – Solid brass polished to a mirror finish. A hard wearing lacquer can be applied to prevent the surface from tarnishing.
Satin Brass – Solid brass polished to a dull satin finish. A hard wearing lacquer can be applied to prevent the surface from tarnishing.
Antique Brass – Solid brass chemically aged to produce the realistic look of antique brass
Antique Bronze – Solid brass chemically aged to produce the authentic antique look and feel of antique bronze.
