Easy Adjust Balcony Balustrades
These holiday homes are nestled deep in the Suffolk countryside. Each lodge has an individual balcony, with a glass balustrade. The design brief was to match the modern style of the buildings, and to ensure uninterrupted views across the fields. Easy Adjust dry glaze channel and glass was the perfect solution.
In this project we supplied everything as ‘kits’ ready for easy installation. Each balcony had channel cut to length to exactly fit the deck dimensions. Packaging everything together in an easy to install ‘kit’, saves so much time onsite. Making life easier for the installer – we do it so you don’t have to!
Access is only needed from one side when installing Easy Adjust channel, making it ideal for balcony installations. It also helps keep costs down overall, as no scaffolding is needed for the installation. There is full adjustment on each panel of glass, making levelling the balustrade up very easy. Just note, this adjustment is not designed to compensate major alignment issues when installing the channel.
In this project 21.5mm toughened & laminated glass was used. This thickness of glass was needed in order to meet and exceed the required loadings. Laminated glass is always a safer option; if it breaks it will still form a barrier until a replacement can be made. One advantage of the dry glaze system is that individual panels can be easily removed and replaced if needed.
All our glass is processed to order. This means that the panels are the right size to suit the balconies. It’s the small things that make the big differences; having all panels the same width makes the balustrade much more aesthetically pleasing. We can deliver glass directly to site if required. Glass is heavy, especially the larger panels, so unloading is a lot easier if there is a forklift or similar onsite. Otherwise make sure there are enough able bodied people on site to help handball the glass off.
