Cable Railings

Cable railings provide a cost effective and unobtrusive means of protecting an edge when a traditional open appearance is preferred and are particularly appropriate for decking areas or commercial or non-public buildings.

Finally a cable railing system that not only works well and is easy to install but looks great too! Our cable railing system has been designed specifically for balustrading and has not just adapted from marine rigging.

The cable tensioners can be hidden within the posts and our swageless fittings can be easily attached to the cable on site.

Building Regulations

It is important to remember that Doc K, BS 5395 Part 1 & BS6180 require that for buildings where likely users include children under 5 years of age that:

• there should not be gaps in balustrades which permit a sphere of 100mm to pass through (this does not apply to the triangle formed by the tread and riser, except in dwellings and flats, providing the barrier line is not more than 50mm above the pitch line)
• That children should not readily be able to climb the guarding.

An offset top rail has been used designed on this project to ensure it isn’t possible to climb the balustrade.
