Our Push & Pull Lock Fittings are exceptionally easy to install.

Follow our step by step guide.

STEP 1

Unpack your delivery, taking time to familiarise your self with all items against the delivery note.

Generally cables will be supplied cut over length with one end pre-swaged.

Lay out cables according to your site plan.

STEP 2

Assemble the relevant fitting loosely to the pre-swaged or fixed end.

Starting at the post that will accept this fitting feed the cable through the holes in this and all the relevant intermediate posts.

Remember to leave the maximum amount of thread available on the tensioning fitting to use later!

STEP 3

Once the cable has past through the last post on the run remove the black protective cap from the cable.

If using a Pull Lock fitting feed the cable through the fitting whilst slowly rotating the cable in the direction of the cable lay.

If using a Push Lock fitting first pull the cable as tight as possible, mark it, trim to size and then feed it into the Push Lock fitting, again whilst rotating the cable in the direction of the cable lay.

It is important to rotate the cable in the direction of the cable lay to avoid the cable unravelling.

STEP 4

Now pull the cable as tight as possible by hand. Due to the “one way” jaws within the fitting this locks the cable in place.

If using the Pull Lock fitting now cut off the excess cable as close as possible to the fitting to avoid interference with the cover cap.

STEP 5

If applicable now fit the Pull Lock cover caps by firmly pressing them in place.

STEP 6

Now return to the pre-swaged/ tensioning end and tighten the cable to the required tension.

We recommend that cable pliers are used to prevent the cable rotating.

This step is critical as this high tension is what “Locks” the Push & Pull Lock Jaws in place. Failure to finally tension the cables can lead to long term failure.
